Franchise Owner

Tammy Dana-Bashian of Rowlett, Texas

Tammy Dana-Bashian has lived in the Dallas area for over 35 years, including in the cities of Dallas, Mesquite, Garland and Rowlett.  Tammy and her husband Barry currently live in Rowlett with their two children, Mitchell and Clayton.   Tammy will operate as the sole business owner, and has the support of Barry and their children behind her as she provides a much needed service to the community.

Most seniors prefer to age in their home and Tammy’s family is no different.  Tammy feels blessed to have firsthand experience with caring for several senior family members throughout her life.  Tammy was raised in a household with her grandmother who required substantial care in her later years.  Tammy believes her family would have benefited greatly from in-home assistance from seniors with similar life experiences which would have provided social benefits to her grandmother.

Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care matches those in need with loving, caring, active seniors who have the heart of a volunteer and a sincere desire to help others.  “In-home care allows seniors to maintain a certain desired lifestyle and in many cases prevents deteriorating health,” said Tammy.  "It's not just about prolonging life, it's also about the quality of life."

In recent years, Tammy provided significant care for her father-in-law and father, both who lived many years progressing through the stages of Parkinson’s Disease.  Tammy is currently assisting in the care of her mother who has challenges with activities of daily life as a result of suffering a stroke.

“Like many people, I have felt the pressure of supporting aging parents while raising growing children,” Tammy said.  “Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services provide family members of seniors needing support a reliable and trustworthy alternative when their own family and work situation does not give them the ability to provide the assistance needed by their loved ones.”

Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care program is also designed to help seniors who are retired stay active, as well as provide them with supplemental income. “We look for mature individuals who have a passion for giving back,” Tammy said.  “Seniors who stay active are happier and more productive in their personal life.  This is a win-win scenario.”
